Under the scope of AADMER Work Programme 2016-2020, the project was developed under Priority 3 “ADVANCE: A Disaster Resilient and Climate Adaptive ASEAN Community” aimed towards advancing ASEAN Community that is safe, resilient to disasters and adaptive to climate change. The project focuses on risk assessment and risk mapping methodology, marked highest priority based on findings of the previous project assessment. The project demonstrates the integration of climate change projections into flood and landslide risk assessments through case studies in selected river basins.
Based on initial findings, the observed vulnerabilities are very common to most ASEAN countries. Therefore, the methodology for risk assessment study, and questionnaire survey tool designed for exposure and vulnerability assessment can also serve as good reference for other ASEAN countries to conduct similar studies in the future.
